Where should I place my ZZ Plant?
ZZ Plants thrive in low to bright, indirect light. They’re perfect for offices, bedrooms, and shaded indoor corners. Avoid placing them in direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.
How often should I water my ZZ Plant?
Water only when the top 2–3 inches of soil feel dry. Typically, this means once every 2–3 weeks. ZZ Plants are drought-tolerant and prefer to dry out between waterings.
What kind of pot is best for ZZ Plants?
Use a pot with good drainage. ZZ Plants also do well in self-watering pots, but make sure the soil isn’t constantly wet to avoid root rot.
Why are my ZZ Plant leaves turning yellow?
Yellowing leaves are usually a sign of overwatering or waterlogged soil. Check drainage, reduce watering, and allow the soil to fully dry out.
My plant arrived with a few limp or droopy stems. Is this normal?
Yes – some droopiness can occur due to shipping stress. Give the plant a few days in a well-lit, stable environment. Avoid watering right away unless the soil is dry.
How fast does a ZZ Plant grow?
ZZ Plants are slow growers, especially in low light. You’ll notice new shoots more often during the spring and summer if the plant gets enough light.
Do I need to fertilize my ZZ Plant?
Fertilize once a month during the growing season (spring and summer) using a diluted liquid houseplant fertilizer. No need to fertilize in winter.
Is the ZZ Plant safe for pets?
❗ No – ZZ Plants are toxic if ingested by pets or humans. Keep it out of reach of cats, dogs, and small children.
Can ZZ Plants survive in an air-conditioned room?
Yes! ZZ Plants are extremely tolerant of AC environments and fluctuating indoor temperatures. Just avoid placing them in direct cold air drafts.
Does the ZZ Plant clean the air?
Yes – ZZ Plants are known for their air-purifying qualities, helping to remove common indoor pollutants like xylene and toluene.
