Botanical Name: Echinocereus triglochidiatus
Common Names: Kingcup Cactus, Claret Cup Cactus, Mojave Mound Cactus
Origin: Southwestern United States and Mexico

🌞 Light

Loves full sun. Requires at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily for healthy growth and flowering.

💧 Watering

Water thoroughly but infrequently. Let the soil dry completely between waterings. Water less during winter dormancy.

🌡️ Temperature

Prefers warm climates and is surprisingly cold-hardy, tolerating down to 20°F (−6°C) when dry. Ideal range: 60–85°F (16–29°C).

🌱 Soil

Use a well-draining cactus mix with added sand or pumice. Avoid moisture-retentive soil.

✂️ Maintenance

Minimal care required. Remove dried flowers or pads only if desired. Can produce stunning red-orange blooms in spring.
