Botanical Name: Crassula ovata
Common Names: Jade Plant, Money Plant, Lucky Plant
Origin: South Africa and Mozambique
🌞 Light
Thrives in bright, indirect sunlight. Can tolerate a few hours of gentle direct sun. Avoid deep shade which causes leggy, weak growth.
💧 Watering
Use the soak and dry method — water thoroughly then let soil dry completely before watering again. Every 2–3 weeks in summer, monthly in winter.
🌡️ Temperature
Prefers 65–75°F (18–24°C). Tolerates a range but keep away from frost and temperatures below 50°F (10°C).
🌱 Soil
Use a well-draining cactus or succulent mix. Good drainage prevents root rot.
✂️ Maintenance
Prune to encourage bushy branching. Wipe leaves to keep them dust-free. Believed to attract luck and prosperity — a popular gift plant.
