Botanical Name: Zamioculcas zamiifolia
Common Names: ZZ Plant, Zanzibar Gem, Eternity Plant
Origin: Eastern Africa
🌞 Light
Tolerates low to bright indirect light. One of the most adaptable houseplants — thrives in offices, bedrooms, and shaded corners. Avoid direct harsh sunlight.
💧 Watering
Water only when the soil is completely dry — typically every 2–3 weeks. ZZ Plants store water in their thick rhizomes and are very drought-tolerant. Less is more.
🌡️ Temperature
Ideal range: 65–85°F (18–29°C). Keep away from cold drafts and temperatures below 50°F (10°C).
🌱 Soil
Use well-draining potting soil — a cactus or succulent mix is ideal. Good drainage is essential to prevent root rot.
✂️ Maintenance
Virtually maintenance-free. Wipe leaves occasionally with a damp cloth for shine. Prune dead stems from the base if needed. Repot every 2–3 years.
