🌿 Care Guide
Plant Name: Kalanchoe pinnata (Pathar Chat)
Botanical Name: Bryophyllum pinnatum
Common Names: Pathar Chat, Cathedral Bells, Life Plant, Air Plant
Origin: Madagascar
🌞 Light
Thrives in bright, indirect to partial direct sunlight. Best near a sunny window or balcony. Tolerates some shade but grows best with good light.
💧 Watering
Water when the top inch of soil feels dry. Moderately drought-tolerant — allow some drying between waterings. Reduce significantly in winter.
🌡️ Temperature
Thrives in 60–85°F (16–29°C). Protect from frost and temperatures below 50°F (10°C).
🌱 Soil
Use a well-draining potting mix. Adding perlite or sand improves drainage and prevents root rot.
✂️ Maintenance
Baby plantlets naturally form along leaf edges and can be potted separately — a fascinating self-propagating feature. Remove spent flower stems. Fertilize lightly once a month during the growing season.
⚠️ Sad Plant Signs
🟡 Yellow, soft leaves – Overwatering.
🍂 Brown, crispy leaf edges – Underwatering or low humidity.
📉 Leggy, stretched growth – Insufficient light. Move to a brighter spot.
