🌿 Care Guide
Plant Name: Mint
Botanical Name: Mentha spicata / Mentha × piperita
Common Names: Spearmint, Peppermint, Pudina
Origin: Europe and Asia
🌞 Light
Thrives in bright, indirect to partial direct sunlight — 4–6 hours per day. A sunny windowsill or balcony is ideal. Insufficient light causes weak, leggy stems.
💧 Watering
Keep soil consistently moist — Mint loves water. Water every 1–2 days in warm weather. Do not let the soil dry out completely.
🌡️ Temperature
Thrives in 60–80°F (16–27°C). Sensitive to extreme heat — provide some afternoon shade in peak summer.
🌱 Soil
Use a rich, moisture-retaining potting mix. Adding compost improves flavor and growth rate significantly.
✂️ Maintenance
Harvest regularly by pinching stems above a leaf node — this keeps the plant bushy and productive. Pinch off flower buds to maintain leaf flavor. Fertilize lightly every 2–4 weeks.
⚠️ Sad Plant Signs
🍂 Wilting, drooping stems – Underwatering. Water immediately.
🟡 Yellow leaves – Overwatering or nutrient deficiency.
📉 Leggy, sparse growth – Insufficient light or needs harvesting.
