🌿 Care Guide
Plant Name: Aloe Vera in Self Watering Pot
Botanical Name: Aloe barbadensis miller
Common Names: Aloe Vera, True Aloe, Medicinal Aloe
Origin: Arabian Peninsula
🌞 Light
Requires bright, indirect to direct sunlight. At least 4–6 hours of strong light daily for healthy, upright growth.
💧 Watering
Keep the self-watering reservoir at a low level — Aloe prefers drying out between waterings. Let the reservoir run dry before refilling. Refill every 2–3 weeks in summer.
🌡️ Temperature
Ideal range: 60–85°F (16–29°C). Protect from frost and temperatures below 50°F (10°C).
🌱 Soil
Uses a well-draining cactus mix via the self-watering reservoir. Avoid overfilling to prevent soggy roots.
✂️ Maintenance
Remove dried outer leaves. Harvest gel from mature leaves when needed. Drain the reservoir fully between refills to mimic natural drought cycles.
⚠️ Sad Plant Signs
🟡 Yellow, soft leaves – Reservoir too full. Drain and let dry.
🟤 Brown, thin leaves – Reservoir empty for too long. Refill promptly.
📉 Drooping – Overwatering. Drain and reduce reservoir level.
